MCK - FAQ
Everything You Wanted to Know About the MCK – Answered
Have you been considering the CAA Micro Conversion Kit (MCK)?
We’ve gathered and answered the most common questions to help you make an informed purchase and understand the key features across all MCK generations.
1. Can I run a ported barrel or slide with the MCK?
Answer:
No. Ported or compensated barrels and slides are not compatible with any MCK generation. These barrels release gas upwards, which may interfere with the internal structure of the MCK and cause malfunctions or damage. Use only standard, non-ported barrels.
2. Can I use a suppressor with the MCK?
Answer:
Yes – but only with Gen 2 and Gen 3 models.
- MCK Gen 1: ❌ Not compatible with suppressors.
- MCK Gen 2: ✅ Accepts suppressors up to 1.38” diameter.
- MCK Gen 3: ✅ Accepts suppressors up to 1.50” diameter.
Both Gen 2 and Gen 3 also support suppressor-height sights. Gen 1 does not.
3. What’s the difference between MCK Gen 1, Gen 2, and Gen 3?
Answer:
MCK Gen 1:
– Slim and compact
– Lightweight design
– Ambidextrous handling
– ❌ Does not support suppressors or suppressor-height sights
MCK Gen 2 (adds to Gen 1):
– Fire with stabilizer in folded position
– Improved ergonomics
– Suppressor compatibility up to 1.38″
– Supports suppressor-height sights
MCK Gen 3 (adds to Gen 2):
– Compatible with pistols with slide-mounted optics
– Dual-side folding stabilizer (left or right)
– Suppressor compatibility up to 1.50″ diameter
4. Can I install the MCK without any tools?
Answer:
Yes. One of the MCK’s major advantages is tool-free installation. Just insert your handgun and lock it in place – it’s that simple.
5. Does the MCK work with slide-mounted optics?
Answer:
Only MCK Gen 3 supports pistols with slide-mounted optics (like red dot sights). Gen 1 and Gen 2 do not have enough clearance for that configuration.
6. Is the MCK legal in my state or country?
Answer:
MCK legality varies by state and country. In the U.S., certain features (like a stock instead of a stabilizer) may require an NFA tax stamp.
We recommend checking local regulations before purchasing. We do not sell firearms – only conversion kits.
7. Which handguns are compatible with the MCK?
Answer:
The MCK is available for dozens of models from Glock, Sig Sauer, Smith & Wesson, Springfield, CZ, and more.
You can find a full compatibility chart here.
8. What accessories can I add to my MCK?
Answer:
MCK kits support a wide range of add-ons:
– Flip-up sights
– Thumb rests
– Integral flashlights
– Red dot optics
– Sling swivels
– Front grips
Most MCKs feature full Picatinny rails for maximum flexibility.
9. Is the MCK good for home defense or training?
Answer:
Absolutely. The MCK offers increased stability, faster target acquisition, and better control – making it ideal for home defense, range days, tactical training, and more.
10. How is the MCK different from other conversion kits on the market?
Answer:
– 100% Made in the USA
– Over 1.5 million units sold
– No tools required
– Trusted by military, law enforcement, and civilian users
– Wide model compatibility
– Backed by a 10-year warranty
